Taranaki Kiwi Trust

Description

Taranaki Kiwi Trust is a charitable trust and we work across Taranaki to protect kiwi in the wild. These birds are New Zealand’s iconic national bird, yet they are considered nationally vulnerable and without help they are likely to be extinct in the wild within two generations. Community involvement is an essential component for kiwi conservation, and this is a focus of the Taranaki Kiwi Trust (TKT). We work help with pest control across public and private land, run an education programme, actively monitor kiwi in the wild and are a partner in the Taranaki Kiwi Kohanga at Rotokare.
