Come to Hawera Observatory in King Edward Park to learn about what's in the night sky, including stars, planets, moons, meteors, comets, galaxies, nebulae and use telescopes to have a close encounter with the wonders of the universe! We welcome people of all ages, although we ask that adults accompany those who are 14 years and younger. Special times may be arranged for interested groups from schools and other organisations. We hold at least two themed public events each year and also invite guest speakers to talk on astronomical themes.
