Central Taranaki Riding for Disabled

We are affiliated to New Zealand Riding for Disabled and provide a structured programme for school age children with physical or mental disabilities using horses. We are based in Stratford at Pioneer Village and welcome all children from the local area who have a wide range of disabilities or mental health struggles. We adapt a programme according to the individual needs and abilities of each child using horses to assist with stimulus and movement.

We meet every Thursday from 9.45am until approx 1.45pm. Each child needs to be registered and a medical clearance from their doctor is required. We also need volunteers who can offer us some of their time, no experience with horses is necessary. Volunteers need to be prepared to be Police checked.
